Effie May Hull Lorentz, 83, of Fountain Inn, widow of Scott Simpson Lorentz, Sr., died Nov. 15, 2006 at her home.
Born in Carbondale, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ida May Gardner Hull. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Karen Rollings of Simpsonville, Sarah Anderson of Greer; sons, Scott S. Lorentz, Jr. of Simpsonville, Kenneth Lorentz of Fountain Inn, Douglas Lorentz of Greenville, Tarry Lorentz of Danbury, CT; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 18 at Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Walter Lee Gilliam, Sr., 82, of 547 Garrison Road, passed away, Tuesday, November 14, 2006 in Decatur, Alabama.
He was born in Honea Path, SC, a son of the late Fred and Lois Copeland Gilliam.
He was a retired self-employed truck driver and a member of Grace Baptist Church of Pelzer.
Surviving are: two sons, Walter Lee Gilliam Jr. and his wife, Jeanie of Pelzer and Fred Gilliam and his wife, Lynda of Decatur, AL; four daughters, Judy Collins and her husband Bobby of Honea Path, Connie Smith and her husband Rick of Central, Sissy Hendricks of Piedmont, and Polly Gilliam of Spartanburg; two sisters, Frances Coker of Pelzer and Martha Kerns of Piedmont; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Roxie Harris Gilliam, and his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Gilliam.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown with Reverends John Griffin and Gerald Jenkins officiating. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home at 547 Garrison Road, Pelzer, SC 29669.

Ernest Albert Sargent, 90, of Pelzer, widower of the late Dorothy Jones Sargent, died Nov. 17, 2006 at his home.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Andrew and Nancy Emma Fortner Sargent. He was formerly employed at W & N Construction Company and was a member of True Christian Fellowship Church in Westminster.
He was twice married, first to the late Pauline Holcombe Sargent.
Surviving is a sister, Ruth Hunter of Pelzer.
Funeral services were held Nov. 20 at Gray Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed in Six and Twenty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Robert Pete Wayne Moore, 57, of Piedmont, died Nov. 17, 2006.
Born in Piedmont, he was a son of Ressie Saxton Moore of Piedmont and the late Thomas Franklin Moore. He was employed by Crown Grading in Liberty.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Pat Williams of Piedmont; and brother, Larry T. Moore of Piedmont.
Funeral services were held Nov. 19 in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial followed in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Cecil Watt Gambrell Beebe, 89, of Anderson, died Nov. 17, 2006.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Watt and Bertha Martin Watt. She retired from Scott Manufacturing and was a member of Eureka Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her sons, Marshall Gambrell of Belton and Gerald Gambrell of Anderson; daughter, Jewel Fousek of Williamston; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband Arthur Gambrell and her second husband, Charles H. Beebe.
Funeral service was held Nov. 19 in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment followed in New Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson.
Christine Bolden Smith, 71, of Simpsonville, died Nov. 13, 2006 in the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, James Arthur Smith Sr. of Greenville; four sons, James Arthur Smith Jr. of Greenville, Edward Booker T. Smith and Anthony Smith of Simpsonville and Ray Smith of Pelzer; and four daughters, Ernestine Smith and Theresa Smith of Simpsonville, Janice Diann Stroughn of Elizabeth, NJ and Beverly Ann Vincent of Fountain Inn.
Funeral service was held Nov. 19 at the Mount Zion Baptist Church, Fountain Inn. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Elton Leon Finley, 82, husband of Pallie Lollis Finley, of Pelzer, died Nov. 19, 2006 at Riverside Living Center.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Leondus Henry and Lillie Arnold Finley. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Saco Lowell and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Vonnie F. Hopkins of Spartanburg; son, Jerry L. Finley, Sr. of Williamston; brothers, Roy Finley of Williamston, Elbert Finley of Pelzer; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 22 at Gray Mortuary Chapel, Pelzer. Burial followed in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
