Joy Jean Owens Carver, 74, of Greenville, died Aug. 22, 2007 at her daughters home in Pelzer.
Born in Newelton, LA, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Owens and the late Joyce Revelle Hawkins. She retired ffrom Grady Hipp Retirement Center in Greenville.
She is survived by son, Danny Carver of the home; daughter, Janey Wood of Pelzer; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Aug. 24 at Graceland Cemetery in Greenville.

Marilyn M. Mansell, 60, of Greenville, died Aug. 19, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Boyce and Annie Mae Anderson McCrary.
Surviving are a son, Lamont McCrary of Williamston; stepchildren, Underina Sherika, Kayor and Segio Burnside, all of Greenville; sisters, Thelma Anderson of Greenville, Juanita Walton, Ceatrice Webb and Cathy Porter, all of Buffalo, NY; and a host of grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Aug. 26 at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Jacquelyn R. Williams, 32, formerly of Greenville, died Aug. 23, 2007 at St. Francis Womens Hospital.
Daughter of Allen Williams and Renee D. Fowler Brewster and stepdaughter of Charles Brewster, she was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church, Greenville and an employee of Doctors Care.
Surviving are one daughter, Miyona Baker of Easley; two brothers, Andre Williams of Piedmont and Charles Lamont Brewster of Greenville; grandmother, Jessie Williams of Greenville.
Funeral service was held Aug. 26 at Rock of Ages Baptist Church. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Marie Harrison Cann Ashley, 69, wife of C.V. Buddy Ashley, died Aug. 25, 2007 at her home.
She was born in Abbeville County to Clara Brown Harrison and the late James Rayford Harrison.
She was a retired nurse and a member of Sharon United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of the home; three sons, Bill Cann, Joey Cann, both of Abbeville, Mark Cann of Spartanburg; two brothers, Jimmy Harrison of Pelzer and Phillip Harrison of Yonkers, NY; two sisters, Joyce H. Cann of Abbeville and Bobbi H. Arnold of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Aug. 28 at Lebanon Presbyterian Church. Private family burial will follow at a later date in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

James A. Pittman, 67, of Greenville, died Aug. 25, 2007.
Born in Greenville, he was the husband of Doris Ward Pittman and the son of the late Grady and Essie Bryant Pittman.
He was a truck driver with Greenville County Schools and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Teresa McElrath and Kenneth Pittman, both of Laurens and Keith Pittman of Fountain Inn; five stepchildren, Wesley Fletcher, John Picklesimer, Darleen Turner, all of Greenville, Vickie Darnell of Greer and Martha Lollis of Pelzer; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Jessie Pittman of Greenville and Louie Pittman of Marietta; and one sister, Geneva Massengale of Honea Path.
Funeral services were held Aug. 28 in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
PIEDMONT - Hazel Elizabeth Brock Bryson, 86, of 6 Haynes Street, died Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the Callie & John Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late John William and Sarah Jane Elizabeth Mulligan Brock. She was a member of Piedmont Heights Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Carlisle and her husband Mickey of Piedmont, Patricia Elrod of Piedmont and her beloved son, James Bryson and his wife Linda of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; six grandchildren, Suzette Schweitzer, Michael Carlisle, Alicia Brown, Amy Montemayer, Jason Elrod and Jamie Elrod; eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Sybil King of Pelzer.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryson was predeceased by her husband, James Elmer Bryson, Sr.; three sisters, Bert Thompson, Sallie McCaslan, Ruth Creswell; a brother, John W. Brock, Jr.; and step-mother, Carrie Lee Brock.
Graveside services were held Monday, August 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Alex Richey and Rev. Scott Sheriff. Visitation followed at the cemetery immediately following the service.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and all the staff at the Callie & John Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC for their compassion and loving care during this time.
The family is at the home of Mickey & Sarah Carlisle, 9 Haynes Street, Piedmont.

Michael Keith Cannady, 48, husband of Patricia Ann Jacobs Cannady, died Aug. 25, 2007.
Surviving are three children, Misty Potter, Michael R. Cannady and Crystal Cannady; nine grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Lloyd Cannady, Carolyn Daniels and Ann Bennett.
Predeceased are his parents, Willie Robert and Jenny Ruth Parris Cannady.
A memorial service was held Aug. 29 at First Church of God, Zet Court in Greenville.
Willie Mae Landreth Miss Bill Sanders, 83, of Lavonia, GA died Aug. 27, 2007 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Seneca, she was a daughter of the late Rev. C. V. and Mrs. Lydia Crooks Landreth.
She was a homemaker, a substitute teacher of Franklin County Schools and former employee of Family Dollar.
She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Rev. John Harbin Sanders; daughter, Claudia Bartlett of Bowersville, GA; son, Ronnie Sanders of Lavonia, GA; sister, Edith Joyce Jo Landreth of Piedmont; brother, Horton Landreth of Cliffside, NC; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Aug. 29 at Roselane Cemetery in Toccoa, GA.

Sara Linda Cox Stang, 61, of Williamston, died Aug. 26, 2007 at the Hospice House.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Sara Smith Cox and the late Leland M. Cox. She was a retired bank teller from Clemson University and a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Debra Stang; son, Donnie Stang; and mother, Sara Cox, all of Williamston.
Graveside service was held Aug. 29 at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mattie W. Smith, of Fountain Inn, died Aug. 20, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
She was a daughter of the late Charles and Helen Seaborn Williams.
Surviving are daughter, Gloria Smith Wright of Greenville; sons, Bobby Smith Jr. of Columbia and Charles Smith of Simpsonville; sisters, Mamie Williams and Willa Grace Williams, both of Piedmont; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Aug. 25 at Flat Rock Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Samuel Lee Oliver, 64, husband of Linda Cooley Oliver, of Piedmont, died Aug. 28, 2007 at his home.
He was born in Pickens County and was a son of the late Richard and Veda Oliver of Williamston. He was a former employee of J.P. Stevens Estes Plant, attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Easley and served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife Linda Cooley Oliver of the home; four children, Tony Oliver of Piedmont, Laura Oliver Chaney of Travelers Rest, Jane Oliver Qubti of Powdersville and Marty Oliver of Ware Place; ten grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Oliver and Michael Oliver, both of Williamston; and a sister, Joyce Oliver Ellison of Gray Court.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 30 in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.

Flora Marie Thomason Ford, 79, wife of William R. Ford of Anderson, died Aug. 27, 2007 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.
Born in Lyman she was a daughter of the late John Thomason and Lily Sloan Thomason. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her husband of the home; sons, Earle Ford of Pelzer, Billy Ford of Belton, Dale Ford and Kenny Ford, both of Anderson and Tony Ford of the home; daughter Linda Purdy of Iva; two brothers, James Shirt Thomason of Pelzer and Bobby Thomason of Piedmont; sister, Carolyn Bug Taylor of Mauldin; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

WILLIAMSTON - Helen Broome Hardy, 77, of 1 Pinecrest Drive and widow of Larry Furman Hardy, died Saturday, August 11, 2007.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Henry and Lillian Hughey Broome. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Wendy Hardy Rogers and her husband Louie Rogers and their children, Michelle Cheree Rogers and Matthew Gabriel Rogers, all of Honea Path; three brothers, Thomas Broome of Greenville, Clarence Henry Broome of Anderson, Wilford Broome of Williamston.
She was predeceased by daughters, Diane and Dianna Hardy; son, Kenneeth Larry Hardy; and sisters, Mary Reece and Earlene Haynie.
Services were held at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Gray Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Alton Midgett and Dr. Jim Norris officiating. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
