MARY ANNA CAMPBELL

Mary Anna Jordan Campbell, 78, of Williamston, widow of Cecil Edward Campbell, died June  4, 2008 at Brookside Living Center.

Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Walter Guy and Rosalie Bell Jordan. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Surviving are a daughter, Becky Arnold; sisters, Wee Wee Heatherly, Frances Conwell; brothers, Joe, Jim, Hal, and Lin Jordan; one grandson; and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were held June 6 in the Chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial followed in Pine Lawn Cemetery.

GREG KAJS

John Gregory “Greg” Kajs, 50, of Piedmont, died June 3, 2008.

Born in Lubbock, TX, he was the son of Antone and Genevieve Kajs.

He was formerly employed with TPM. He was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Janice Hanvey Kajs; two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica Kajs; brother, Charles Kajs; four sisters, Cece Hayes, Marie Mileti, Charlotte Hollingsworth and Betsy Leuenberger.

Funeral Mass was celebrated June 7 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Easley. Mass of Christian Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

BILLY COOLEY, SR.

PELZER - Billy Mac Cooley, Sr., 74, husband of Sara Cartee Cooley, of 498 Old River Road, died Friday, June 6, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Moses C. and Blanche Poole Cooley. He was formerly employed by Central Textiles and the White Horse Mill.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by children and their spouses, Teresa and Jerry Thompson of Pelzer, Billy Mac, Jr., “Tiny” and Cindy Cooley of Inman, Kathy and Mark Flowers of Norcross, GA; brothers, Jimmy Cooley of Honea Path, Ronny Cooley of Laurens; sister, Violet Davis of Ware Shoals; two grandchildren, and six step-grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Fleming, James and Adam Burnett, Lauren and Cameron Flowers, Nicholas and Michael Thompson; and great-grandchildren, Brooke Fleming, Damian “Bubba” Burnette, and Caton Keaton.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Joyce Spearman and Betty McCall.

The family is at the home and received friends 6-8 pm Saturday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Funeral services were held June 8 at New Hope Baptist Church in Pelzer with the Rev. Richard Burton and the Rev. Bill Bryant officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

LOUIS ‘LUKE’ T. FENNELL

Louis “Luke” Tillman Fennell, 82, of Piedmont, died June 7, 2008 at his home.

Born in Greenville County, he was the husband of Jean Thacker Fennell and son of the late Warren Wallace Fennell and Elsie Fennell Edwards.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and retired from Celanese Corp. and Duke Power. He was a member of River Road Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Betty Foster of Marietta; two sons, Malcomb Fennell of Marietta, Louis T. Fennell, Jr. of Easley; two step-daughters, Patricia Moon of Greer, Barbara Garrett of Greenville; two stepsons, Steve Childress of Taylors, Lamar Childress of Greenville; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held June 9 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.


EUNICE BRYSON

Eunice Lee Terry Bryson, wife of Charles Bryson of Belton, died June 7, 2008 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late George and Rosa Lee Bridges Terry.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sisters, Sadie Beason of NC and Mary Welborn of Williamston; a brother, James Terry of Belton; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held June 11 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.


DAVID GILLIAM, JR.

Horace David Gilliam, Jr., 60, husband of Virginia Kay Joy Gilliam of Pelzer, died June 10, 2008 at his home.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Horace David, Sr., and Daphne Wood Gilliam. He was employed by Century BMW of Greenville and a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by daughters, Nina Krystal Gilliam-Byrd of Blacksburg, VA, Kandi Nicole Gilliam of Anderson, Stacey Ann Gilliam Moss of Summerville; sister, Geneal Gilliam Cantrell; and brother, William Allen Gilliam, both of Pelzer.

The family is at the home and will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
