DONALD ZEAGER

Stanley Donald Zeager, 76, of Williamston, husband of Clara Genevieve Stump Zeager, died April 23, 2008, at his home.

Born in Dauphin County, PA, he was a son of the late Lehman K. and Parthene Steel Zeager. He was a retired dairy farmer and retired from Hoechst-Celanese. He was a member of the Episcopal United Brethren.

Surviving are his wife of the home; daughters, Judy Moyer of Hillsboro, OH; Barbara Little of Williamston, Christine Hurd of Alma, NY; sons, Jack Zeager of Taylors, Jay Zeager of Friendship, NY, Lawrence Zeager of Williston; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 26 in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Entombment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.


BETTY S. PIKE

Betty Stamps Pike, 73, wife of Roy C. Pike of Anderson, died April 22, 2008 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Weldon O’Dell Stamps and Fannie Lou Callaham Stamps. She retired from BASF and was formerly employed at Owens Corning Fiberglas. She was a member of Anderson First Assembly of God.

Surviving are her husband, Roy C. Pike of the home; daughter, Melissa Pike Bray of Williamston; sister, Janie Louise Sears of Anderson; two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 25 at Anderson First Assembly of God. Interment followed in New Silverbrook Cemetery.

BOBBIE JEAN CISSON

Bobbie Jean Cisson, 72, of Easley, died April 23, 2008.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Murrell and Violet Viola Craigo Murrell Gibson and wife of the late Larry O’Dell Cisson.

Surviving are two daughters, Sylvia Moore of Greenville and DeeAnna McLees of Piedmont; son, Larry O’Dell Cisson, Jr. of Belton; brother, Michael Gibson of Easley; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date.


KEITH ARMSTRONG

Martin Keith Armstrong, of Greenville, died April 23, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.

Born in Laurens County, he was the son of the late Frank D. Armstrong, Sr. and Ida Mae Wise Armstrong.

He was a retired machinist with General Electric and a member of Augusta Road United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife Nancy Alexander Armstrong of the home; daughter, Lisa Kay Armstrong of the home; son, Marty Armsrong of Pelzer; one granddaughter; three sisters, Molly Phillips of Anderson, Pat Garner of Clinton and Mary Hair of Enoree; and a brother, Frank D. Armstrong of Charlotte, NC.

Memorials may be made to Augusta Road United Methodist Church, 8324 Augusta Road, Pelzer, SC 29669.

Funeral service was held April 25 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, downtown. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.


SUE DAWKINS DAVIS

Katie Sue Dawkins Davis died April 9, 2008.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Fely Warner and Edith Walker Dawkins. She was a financial planner with  IDS American Express in Greenville.

Surviving are a son, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant John Wesley Davis IV of Fort Huachuca, AZ; two brothers, Joe Walker Dawkins ofAvon, Conn. and Patrick Warner Dawkins of Williamston; and a sister, Jane Dawkins Hicklin of Charleston.

A memorial service was held April 27 at Westview Cemetery in Easley.

FRANCES CLARK

Frances Porter Clark, 78, of Piedmont, widow of Wesley Clark, died April 29, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Jacob and Nettie Brooks Porter. She retired from J.P. Stevens, Dunean Plant, and was a member of Princeton Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Linda Gillespie of the home, Brenda King and Connie Panagakos, both of Piedmont; son, Randall Clark of the home; sisters, Ethel Banks of Ninety Six, Margaret Crane of Honea Path, Betty Davenport of Ware Shoals, Nancy Bryant of Hickory Tavern, and Lois Ridgeway of Williamston; brother, Cecil Porter of Easley; 13 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial will follow in the Princeton Baptist Church Cemetery.


JOEL JACKSON

Joel Keith Jackson, 52, of Williamston, husband of Rebekah Penfield Jackson, died April 27, 2008 at his home.

Born in Charleston, he was a son of Billye Katherine Green Jackson and the late Fred Ross Jackson. He was formerly employed with Upstate Concrete.

Surviving are his wife of the home; mother of Surfside Beach; two sons, Keith Jackson, Jr. and Jamey Jackson, both of the home; daughter, Amanda Tuck of Ft. Campbell, KY; twin brother, Noel Bruce Jackson of Surfside Beach; brothers, Richard Wright of NC, Gordon Ross Jackson of Chapel Hill, NC; sister, Sheila Brooks of Ninety-Six; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services were held April 30 at Gray Mortuary Chapel, Pelzer.


DOT HARRIS

WILLIAMSTON - Dorothy “Dot” Stone Harris, 78, wife of fifty-nine years of W.M. “Mack” Harris, Jr., of 15 Cleveland Street, died Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Inman, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Gertrude Hosea Stone. She graduated from the Anderson Memorial Nursing Program, class of 1948, was a retired registered nurse, and a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Williamston.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Michael “Bo” and Karen P. Harris; grandson, Michael R. Harris; and great-granddaughter, Emily Hope Harris, all of Williamston.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. April 26 in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, with the Rev. Mark Roberts officiating. Members of the Faith Bible Class served as honorary escort. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.

The family is at the home and received friends April 26 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

LINDA WHITLOCK

Linda Ann Kolb Whitlock, 57, wife of Joe Whitlock of Pelzer, died April 27, 2008 at Hospice of the Upstate.

Born in New York City, NY, she was a daughter of the late George F., Sr. and Madeline M. Albert Deayok and was formerly employed by GE in Greenville.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by step-daughters, Jolynn Shockley of Liberty, Tammy Young of Easley, Chris Owens of Belton; step-son, Tony Whitlock of Pelzer; sister, Julia H. Jaeger of Williamston; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held April 30 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the mausoleum chapel.

MARY JEANETTE COTHRAN

Mary Jeanette Owen Cothran, widow of George Douglas Cothran of Pendleton, died April 27, 2008 at Riverside Living Center in Piedmont.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Leroy and Eunice Rosalee Sargent Owen. She was formerly employed by Patti’s Fashions in Pendleton and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Piedmont.

She is survived by daughter, Linda Diane Crane of Pendleton; brother, Robert “Bob” Owen of Pendleton; sister, Patricia Vanromer of Anderson; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services were held April 30 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

TOMMY CLAYTON COX

Tommy Clayton Cox, 58, of Salisbury, NC, died April 25, 2008.

He was born in Anderson County, the son of Sybil C. Ross and the late Roy Cox.

He was employed with HBD Industries as plant superintendent and was a member of Franklin Baptist Church in Salisbury. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Alice M. Cox of the home; daughter, Cyndi Cox Johnson; one grandson; two sisters, Joan C. Plunkett of Belton and Debra L. Ross of Williamston.

Funeral services were held April 28 at Franklin Baptist Church in Salisbury, NC.  Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military honors.

CLAIRE GILES CRITTENDEN

Claire Giles Crittenden, 5 years old, of Easley, died April 25, 2008 at her home.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Lewis Maxwell Crittenden, Sr. and Suzanne Nuckolls Crittenden. She was a member of Mosaic Community Church.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her brother, Lewis Maxwell Crittenden, Jr. of the home; grandparents, Ann and Wiley Crittenden, Jr. of Washington, GA, Carole Smith Nuckolls of Piedmont and Andy and Xiao Li Nuckolls of Parson, TN.

A celebration of her life was held April 28 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Burial will be held at a later date at Sardis Baptist Church in Washington, GA.

WADE DUTTON

Wade Charlie Dutton, 70, husband of Carolyn Dutton of Williamston died April 25, 2008 at his home.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of Elizabeth Rich Patterson of Belton and the late Cullin Charlie Dutton. He retired from Mount Vernon Mill and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Williamston.

Survivors include his wife of the home; sons, Wesley Dutton of Fair Play and Greg Dutton of Williamston; daughter, Cynthia McDowell of Charlotte, NC; and son, Tony Dutton of Howard City, MI; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held April 27 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home.

JERRY MUNNS

Jerry Baker Munns, 57, of Honea Path, wife of John A. Munns died April 26, 2008 at her home.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Sybil Hall Baker and the late Roy T. Baker.  She was owner of “The Barn” and was manager of Big Sky Farm. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Honea Path.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are; her mother of Greenwood; son, Chris Munns of Piedmont; daughter, Kimberly Powell of Lexington; brother, Dr. Phillip Baker of Greenwood; and one grandson.

Funeral services were held April 29 at the Blythe Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

EUNICE KEOWN PARRIS

Eunice Evelyn Keown Parris, 96, of Anderson, died April 28, 2008 at Willow Creek Living Center.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late William B. Perrin and Theresa Lark Perrin. She was twice married, first to the late Myron M. Keown and second to the late K.C. Parris. She was a homemaker and a member of River of Life Church of God.

Surviving are her ten children, Herman Keown of Starr, Talmadge Keown, Mildred McBride, Dorothy Hayes, Albert Keown, Jimmy Keown, Frank Keown, Barbara Burroughs, Sue Carnes, all of Anderson, Linda Dorn of Pelzer; 26 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 30 at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
